Welcome to the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals (CAFP)
The Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals (CAFP), originally founded over 110 years ago, has withstood the test of time by maintaining its relevance in a continually changing business environment. By listening to our members, tracking their needs, and those of the foodservice and hospitality industry, we have adapted our programs to meet these evolving requirements. CAFP is one of the originators of change management.
Our focus at CAFP is to provide ongoing continuing education and lifelong learning experiences for our diverse membership. CAFP offers excellent educational programs at our branch meetings and our annual national conference to help foodservice professionals become familiar with current standards and trends. As well, as part of our membership package, members are offered complementary subscriptions to top Canadian foodservice publications.
CAFP also provides all industry professionals opportunities to attain professional credentialing with the Credentialed Foodservice Executive (CFE) Program – representing an individual’s achievement, knowledge, and dedication throughout a career. Our program is recognized as the industry standard by the Canadian Human Resource and Tourism Council (CHRTC).
We honour our commitment to the foodservice industry through our support of Student Branches and provide numerous bursaries to deserving students each year - both at the Branch and National levels. CAFP encourages students in related foodservices programs to become the leaders of tomorrow, today. Many of our student members find employment opportunities though their CAFP experiences and become industry leaders.
CAFP is a fun, dynamic, strong association that is growing. It provides networking for foodservice professionals to help build professional and personal relationships in an informal environment and encourages mentoring relationships. This unique environment is something that you won’t find anywhere else in the foodservices industry! Our members consist of industry executives, food service suppliers, operators, manufacturers, sales professionals, educators, chefs, government employees from all levels, members of the military, and consultants. All have equal voice and are encouraged to be active in the association, at both levels.
On behalf of our members, I invite you to join us by contacting me by email or reach out to one of our 14 Branches located across Canada. If you are not located within 100 kilometers of a Professional Branch, we also have our Member at Large category, which offers you the same benefits of membership. I look forward to meeting you at our next conference to be held in May 2013 in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel.
